It will be our turn some day.

The ink on the plans for a new pool for Brighouse dried long ago.
Calderdale claims to have the necessary funds in place.
A suitable site conforming to stated requirements has now been identified. This required the proposed land to be already in the Council's possession and to be on a bus route.
An additional bonus is the short distance and easy walk from the town centre.
Councillor Whittaker puts further icing on the cake by claiming the site came out top with all the people involved-------whoever they may be!
With all the right boxes ticked can we now expect to see diggers, aggregate wagons and a battery of concrete mixers on site anytime soon? Well no not really: Echo View informs readers they will have to wait until early 2009 before that happens.
Sad isn't it? Whatever happened to leadership exhortation like: "Action this day" and the "can do" spirit that epitomised the urgency that produced victory in WW2?
Such is our lot today we've become conditioned to settle for a morass of stultifying regulations, planning inertia and nit-picking diktat from the 'ealth and safety Gestapo.
Still we can all rest assured someone is happy having dangled and milked the goodies in order to gain maximum political exposure prior to the forthcoming local May elections.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will have to remain content while this 30 year plus project is again consigned to the deep freeze locker for another bout of hibernation.
